The following images were taken during a family engagement session, this past weekend. When we initially discussed our session details & expectations Sarah told me that her son Josh was a big part of her engagement & upcoming marriage to Jay, and my response was of course!! These true to life sessions yield the most amazing imagery!!! Thanks guys for the lovely outdoorsy afternoon we really lucked out with some fabulous light & gorgeous lens flare … I’m such a sucker for killer lens flare, Enjoy!

Since nowadays, everyone feels more confident in their investment if they can see what they are purchasing, I felt it important to share a sample album. This leather bound, twenty image display is a gorgeous way to tell the story of you & yours right now, at this very moment in time. It showcases a collection of client selected images taken during your session. In our digital age, it’s a tangible way to get your images out there, on display, easily accessible and ready to share!

So this is a first for me on many levels. I decided to accept a challenge from Two Photogs, consisting of two amazingly talented women who recently teamed up to reach out to the local photography community & spark creative interest. They posted a color challenge late last week inviting photographers to pick a color and then over the weekend, to go out & shoot it. The challenge was intended to be creative and fun. The best part being, that the prize for the winner is a pixel 2 canvas! My fingers are totally crossed!!! I gladly accepted. I selected the color blue. I really took the creative challenge to heart & thought long & hard about my creative expression. I paired my blue theme with love. This was doubly hard since the love story featured is mine. There are various self portraits … ugh, we all know how tricky these can be. I based my imagery around a date between me and my husband. The events & primping leading up to the date & how it evolved thereafter are displayed. The color blue was always top of mind in every frame. So here’s my ‘masterpiece’, enjoy & thanks ladies!

Here’s hoping a safe & fun Halloween was had by all! The weather couldn’t have been better for tricks & treats. So in keeping with holidays, it’s time to start thinking about holiday imagery. If you are interested in Christmas pictures or ordering prints to gift, now is the time to book as I have limited availability remaining and would hate for you to miss out on your Flash of Soul session!

I was more than happy to oblige when Jaime contacted me to take some engagement pictures for her & Darren! I was thrilled to learn the news of their proposal. We finally managed to squeeze in a session, between both our busy schedules and Calgary’s on-again-off-again weather. Thanks again for the wonderful afternoon. It was so great catching up, talking weddings and meeting both, your other half & darling daughter. Enjoy!

I just had to include one of the entire family…

I just had to share the following series of images with you! Nothing could be sweeter than this little guy’s reaction to his very first cupcake… well judging from his energy afterward, just maybe the cupcake could, LOL!! I loved every minute of it. From his anticipation & smiles, to his tiny little icing covered fingers. The icing quickly covered his arms, mouth, face, chest, chair & floor, too! I’m sure you’ll understand why he left his proud audience, both parents & grandparents, roaring with laughter! This is exactly the type of imagery & energy that I love to document. A sweet little soul right at home. The pairing of subject & familiar setting, tends to lend itself to the creation of priceless photography experiences. No other match creates better imagery!

I am back in Calgary, so it’s business as usual! My trip was amazing! I’ve included a few images below. Everything was so gorgeous… the beach, ocean, grounds, restaurants & most importantly my company, none other than my husband!!

With the cold weather moving in, looks like our timing couldn’t be better! My husband & I are headed to Cabo this week. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with session inquires. I will be returning all calls & emails when I return October 10th. I couldn’t resist pairing these images I shot this morning, with this post, don’t they just scream chilly!!!

Recently, I had the pleasure of working with the family featured below. Their sweet little gal is nearing her 1st birthday, which ironically enough we share!! This is such a precious stage of development to document. How could I resist! Around the one year mark is obviously monumental since these little ones are reaching their very first birthdays but also, the emotions, expressions and growing sense of independence really makes for treasured imagery! Thanks again Meghan, Geoff & Tesfa!

Thought I’d share how I spent this past Wednesday, soaking up all these amazing rays! Hope you all were as lucky
